Build on the success of the brave LGBTQ+ leaders, allies, and advocates that paved the way for us to celebrate our queerness out in the open by creating local safe spaces and events. Uplift the LGBTQ+ community so it can shine to its full potential.

Our Mission

We envision a Wilsonville where LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and respected. Wilsonville is at its best when everyone can be out and about, free of stigma, shame, or fear.

Our Vision

As a gay man who grew up here, I’ve always found Wilsonville to be an accepting and safe place. And being arguably one of the nicest and most livable suburbs of Portland (which is considered one of the most gay-friendly cities in the US and which has a gay population often ranking second only to San Francisco) it’s no surprise that we have a thriving gay community.

Wilsonville Pride is about building on the success of the brave LGBTQ+ leaders, allies, and advocates that paved the way for us to celebrate our queerness out in the open by creating local safe spaces and events.

Wilsonville Pride is about uplifting the gay community so it can shine to its full potential. Wilsonville is at its best when everyone can be out and about, free of stigma, shame, or fear.

We invite you to join us in this celebration and let your light shine bright! 🏳️‍🌈

Meet The Board

Dana Brenner

Dana has been a Wilsonville resident and community builder since moving to the area in 2021. She believes that gender and sexuality are constructs and that each beautiful human deserves the gift of discovering and embodying their own in a supportive and welcoming community. Dana lives in Charbonneau with her teenage son and two quirky doodles and is a proud parent of two gender expansive adults rocking life in Portland.

Professionally, Dana trained as a mental health therapist and worked for 30 years in the fields of leadership, team, and organizational development consulting, coaching, and teaching. She also practices and teaches meditation, mindfulness, and somatics, and is the founder of The Charbonneau Meditation, Mindfulness, & Somatics Society.

Currently, Dana works as a somatic coach, body worker, and teacher in Wilsonville and in her free time might be found gardening, in water, making art, chasing her dogs at the park, hosting social events, or trying to finish the book she’s been writing.

Mary Pettenger

Meet Dr. Mary Pettenger — professor, advocate, and one of Wilsonville Pride's enthusiastic community champions! By day, Mary is a Professor of Politics, Policy and Administration at Western Oregon University, where she teaches classes that emphasize civic engagement because building stronger, more inclusive communities isn't just her passion, it's literally her job. Mary brings that same energy to her volunteer work in Wilsonville, where she actively shows up for LGBTQ+ folks both professionally and in city life, lending her voice, her time, and her expertise to make sure everyone in our community feels seen and celebrated. Mary and her wife moved to Wilsonville in 2004 and raised their children here. A dedicated volunteer with a deep belief in the power of civic engagement, Mary embodies the spirit of Wilsonville Pride — that belonging isn't just an ideal, it's something we build together, one act of connection at a time.
